World’s worst day!!!!!!!!

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

Yesterday………oh what a day. A day that doesn’t compare to any other. A day that will go down in the record books as world’s worst day. A day that will rival no other. It all started at 6:32am when I woke up 28 minutes early and was wide awake. Waking up early sucks, but is not the worst part of the day. I wanted to get to school early so I drove because I had to take the car to be repaired right after class, and I was supposed to have a quiz so I wanted to study. I get to school, study hard for 40 minutes, get to class with all the knowledge sprung freshly in my mind, and because no one knows what Westphalia was (idiots) we had to take a detour on our path of learning back to high school people and did not have a quiz that I had studied hard for. the quiz has officially been cancelled as we have no time for it. Great. Then I go to psych and our TA was sick, so we had the full class with the prof sitting in on our question time so we actually had to do work- LAME.

Then I take my car to the shop to be fixed. I dropped it off and they told me to come back at 1:30 and it will be done. So now I am stuck in Transcona sans vehicle- yet with a bus pass and two legs. So, I walk down from across the casino down to Kildonan Place, look around and try to kill some time, but it is still only 11:00. Next I decide to walk across the street to paruse the Walmart (where I did find an excellent $6.83 cardigan! best part of the day, oh and two movies for $6.83 as well) and all the other box stores. That killed some time, my feet hurt, and by that time I was hungry. After realizing I had no money to really spend it is not very much fun to windowshop on foot, decided to get some lunch. I picked up a magazine and headed to Tim’s where I ate my sandwich and soup combo for over an hour. By this time now it was only 1:00, so I decided to walk down to Winners and look around. Nothing much there so then I walked back to the dealership to pick up my car which is supposed to be finished by now.

I get to the dealership and ask the guy how much longer, and he tells me that there was more wrong with the car than first expected so it will be about another hour. So I was still like alright because I can still go home and get a 45 minute nap in because I am exhausted. I pull out my magazine and continue on reading about how cosmo can change my life. An hour passes and I had had 2 free cups of coffee and two of water. With the clock stopped on 2:30 I was ready to leave, yet time slowed to a standstill and my car was not finished yet because they found something new. All I could think was Hot damn this better not cost me any money. So by this time I had reconciled the fact that I will be getting no nap today and man that was the shits! But life doesn’t always go as smoothly or how you want it to.

After reading all pamphlets, two papers, and all flyers in the joint I still had to sit there until 3:44 stuck on Regent and then had to make it to 912 Portage ave. I get to work tired, grouchy, angry, hot, sticky, and totally disgusting. Work is slow, I am bored, not feeling very chatty, or like doing anything until the clock eventually reads 7:50 and am gettting excited to go home and have a nap before Josh comes over. Our last customer left at 7:56 so we were getting ready to close when……………..

WE WERE ROBBED AT GUN POINT!!!!!!! at 7:58pm

I couldn’t believe it at first. It happened just like it does in the movies. He walked in and said this is a hold up. It didn’t faze any of us at first so no one got up until he pulled out this revolver and started pointing it at us. We gave him our ATM cash box and some money from the till while he proceeded to swear and yell at us because we have a time delayed safe. He took the money, and then left. But on the way out he told us to have a good night. What a fucker!!! I was pissed!!!!! I had to call 911 again for the 21st time in my life, fill out numerous police reports, give crazy descriptions, and stay at work until 9:51. Again I will not get to have my nap. I wasn’t shaken up at all, but others were and I felt bad. I knew I would eventually be robbed, but I expected something different and it not to happen to me. So here I am today back at work, unfortunately, trying to count down the hours until I can go home and finally take my nap.

A positive note to the day, after I got home from work I did get to have my favourite subways sub and watch one of my all time favourite movies Dirty Dancing. I also did procure 2 excellent cheap DVD’s and an awesome cardigan, and lots of walking exercise. A negative note to the day was that I wasted my whole day doing things I shouldn’t have to do, walked around Transcona feeling like a bedouin with no purpose, then had to go to work, GOT ROBBED!!!!!!!!!! and then missed out on the one simple pleasure that could have made the day better. What a shitty day, oh woes me. It is the Bowen luck curse out to get me. It has moved on past Luke on to me!

parental duties

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

Do you ever have to do things that you do not want to do, but if you don’t you will never hear the end of it? I do. and tonight. I have to go with my mother (hurray) to the Nickelback show. Now it is not bad enough that the last time they were here I had to go with her as well, I have to go with her again!!!! Now for the record I hate Nickelback and especially Chad Kruger. Now that that is out of the way, I am annoyed because my mother could not find anyone else to go with and is practically making me go with her. She guilted me into it, and if I did not accept she would have held it against me. What a cooch. Oh well, what can you do when you are more mature than your parent?

Simple Pleasures

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

I wanted to write about the simple pleasure of being the first to use a public toilet for the day. There is no greater feeling of accomplishment than when you have to go to the washroom soo bad and have to use a public toilet and get to be the first person to put the seat down, smelling the foul stench of cheap bleach cleaner, and sitting on the cold seat. I find public toilets revolting, and try to use them as little as possible, so when you get to be the first for the day there is something so satisfying about it. No other dirty ass having to either urinate/deficate has used this toilet. Some poor (probably immigrant) lady has cleaned it recently, and you get to be the one to deflower it for the day.

How satisfying! What more could you ask for?

Libidos, pretension, and plans

Saturday, December 31st, 2005

After a long hiatus I am back and in worse shape than ever. In light of that I have decided to take up the pen so to speak and talk about New Years. i have never been a fan of big, elaborate new years plans or parties, and always find people put too much stock into these plans in trying to make it the best night of the year. After pondering long and hard I have decided what makes this night so special? If you go out, every place jacks up the prices, waters down the alcohol, and pumps loud club music that white people try desperately to find the downbeat to. Now I ask why do people want to take part in such calamities? Maybe they are lonely and are searching for their soulmate, one to be with always. Are they looking to just have a good time with friends? Maybe they are bored? Maybe they like going out? Maybe indeed. In my opinion they are searching for a quick lay to christen the new year with. People gussy themselves up and go out in search of feeding their carnal urges/needs. Everyone is thinking with their peckers again. Oh geez. This does not include pretensious Mennonites (rhymes with hymn), girl-blunderers, people saving themselves for marriage(but they do like to pass the bj mike), and feminists.

My plans for new years are as follows:

1- Try not to get any sicker.
2- Make Kim the soup I promised her earlier this week
3- Watch movies with my meat and hetero-lifemate, and others if want arises
4- Eat junk
5- NOT: watch Dick Clark gay ball drop, drink champagne, no countdowns, no auld lang zie, and definitely no smooching!
5- Fall asleep and wake up in 2006 as disgruntled and cynical as ever!

I need professional help.

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

I never thought I would be saying this, but here goes. Hi, my name is Jill Antle and I am an addict. My addiction is not to alcohol, gambling, or drugs. I am addicted to Harry Potter. Sad t’is true. I have kept my closet addiction silent until now. I have come to my 12 step program because yesterday I went to see the 4th movie by myself and participated in an online Pottsy forum with other adult nerds. Oh the madness! It has sucked me in. I do not have any collectables or anything like most star wars/trek, D&D fans, but I am addicted to everything Harry. I wouldn’t have a dress-up HP party, but I would like to have discussions. I am a nerd. I participated fully in an online chat here people. Slap me in the face and wake me from my coma!! Oh how embarrassing.
Step 1 is to recognize and face the problem. There it is people my skeletons in the closet.
